The ISIR Civic Forum: Sustaining platforms for Open Information and Dialogue

The Civic Forum is an open platform acting as a catalyst for change which is hosted and organized by the Institute for Strategic Insights and Research (ISIR) The Civic forums are known to invite policy practitioners, academics, and thought leaders to talk about current affairs and propose suggestions for improving policy issues. The civic forums also encourage community-based dialogues to open up avenues for unfettered discussions and the exchange of information.

The Institute for Strategic Insights and Research (ISIR) believes that open platforms unlock the community’s potential to engage in critical and constructive conversation. The public has a key role to play in national development and success. The ISIR Civic Forum brings together key actors to help find solutions to issues of public interest and aims to improve growth, social mobility, and innovation.

The ISIR Civic Forums have provided a civic space in the Horn of Africa where researchers, practitioners, public officials and actors from different sectors can meet on equal terms to examine political, economic and social issues. So far, all the Civic Forums have been held in Somaliland.
